Watch the heat!

The calendar may say fall is here, but the days are still warm and heat related problems can develop when we’re exercising. Heat illness can go from mild to life-threatening very quickly, so it’s important to always be aware of the signs of heat illness in yourself or your workout partners: nausea, muscle cramps, dizziness, heavy sweating, and a fast, weak pulse.

If you recognize any of these symptoms in yourself or a buddy, take action quickly! Stop your activities and rest, move to shade or a cool room, drink cool water or soak a bandana in cool water and place it on your head or around your neck.
