Hello Conquerors!

It is beautiful outdoors and a great time to join the GetFit team for a workout, Meander Mindfully with Dawn, or participate in a Second Sunday Hike with Deb. Our Get Active leaders are constantly thinking of new ways to get us moving and keep things fresh. We are lucky to have them! It’s also a wonderful time to visit the TCC garden where things are flourishing with our warmer weather.

February brought us an exciting social event with family and friends at Barrio Bar and Grill . The owners, Tauna and Dennis Arnold, and their staff generously provided a beautiful private venue with brewery tours and samplings of their famous brews. It was wonderful to meet so many family and friends who support our members and the TCC mission. It is all about creating community! Congratulations to Carole Wymer for winning the Cats basketball ticket raffle, and thank you to Arlene for serving as organizer and bouncer for our event!

With the exception of a few final photos, our new pamphlet is just about ready to print. Marlyne and Ginny have graciously agreed to spearhead pamphlet distribution and will be looking for volunteers. This informational brochure is a wonderful way for us to reach out to those who may need our help. We are very excited to get it off the press.

We have decided it would be good to add a little tidbit about the Board in each newsletter, so here is this month's item:

TCC has a “working board” that puts careful consideration and many hours into assuring that our activities reflect the needs and suggestions of our membership. The board is responsible for the fiscal health of our organization which is a legal duty that we take very seriously. We have systems in place to assure that we are good stewards of donor money and that our funding is wholly reinvested into programming that directly benefits our members. To wrap up our Fiscal year, in June we will once again host our Cancer Conqueror Annual Report Event, highlighting the years activities, reviewing financials, and acknowledging our donors.

Be sure to check the TCC Calendar on our website for details about the many fun activities we have planned.

Hope to see you all soon,

The Tucson Cancer Conquerors Board

P.S. - Remember to invite your friends and family to Like the Tucson Cancer Conquerors Facebook page – our goal is to reach 500 followers this year!
